Blue Raiders’ comeback falls short against FIU on Friday

LYNCHBURG, Va. — The Middle Tennessee volleyball team took on FIU in the quarterfinals of the Conference USA tournament on Friday in Lynchburg, Va. The Blue Raiders almost completed the reverse sweep but dropped the match in five.
The Blue Raiders (20-9, 11-5 CUSA) fell to FIU Panthers (13-18, 8-8 CUSA) with set scores of 23-25, 19-25, 25-17, 25-20 and 9-15.
Redshirt senior Kayla Henley tallied 14 kills on a .423 hitting clip, nine digs and three total blocks. Sophomore Adri Rhoda added 15 kills. Junior Laure Jansen recorded 10 kills and eight digs. Senior Taylor Eisert totaled 50 assists and 10 digs earning a double-double. Eisert had three service aces as well.
By the Numbers
50: Eisert earned 50 assists averaging 10 per set and added 10 digs.
3: Three Blue Raiders had 10+ kills.
