MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee men's tennis head coach Jimmy Borendame announced the late addition of Jakub Kroslak to the Blue Raiders' class of 2023.
"Jakub is the prototypical guy for us," said MTSU Head Coach Jimmy Borendame. He is a strong student in school, wants to train and get better every day. It is always difficult to transition in January but he is adaptable and resilient. The challenge will be to acclimate as quick as possible. He has a lot of game and will be a strong addition."
Kroslak, a native of Braislava, Slovakia, will look to make an impact in singles and doubles when he steps foot on campus in January. Jakub joins the Blue Raiders from Sukromna strdna sportova skola.
Jakub has a best ATP ranking of No. 1289 and a best UTR of 12.7.
Kroslak reached the semifinals at a 15k tournament twice in doubles. He advanced to the finals four times of the Slovak national championship.
"Jakub loves tennis and he chose us to help him take his tennis to the next level and to help him become a professional player after college," said MTSU Associate Head Coach Andrea Caligiana. "We had a lot of conversations with him and got to know him very well over the last few months. He is a great guy and will fit very well in our program. He played a lot over the last few months and will be ready to go in January."
Kroslak joins the freshman class of Igor Mandou Berranger and Kristian Thomas. Kroslak will report to MTSU in January.
