MTSU defeats Tennessee State 5-2 on Friday to remain unbeaten at home

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee women's tennis extend their win streak to five defeating Tennessee State 5-2 on Friday, Feb. 10 at the Adams Tennis Complex.
The Blue Raiders started off strong taking the doubles point. On court No. 3, Muskan Gupta and Eloise Swarbrick picked up a 6-0 win. On court No. 1, Sana Garakani and Noelle Mauro claimed the doubles point, winning 6-2.
Love-Star Alexis started things off with a 6-0, 6-0 victory on court No. 1. On court No. 4, Mauro defeated her TSU opponent 6-2, 6-0 to give MTSU a 3-0 lead. Garakani claims her first clinch of the season tallying a 6-1, 6-2 win on court No. 2. Gupta continued the impressive singles play for the Blue Raiders defeating her TSU opponent 6-2, 6-1 on court No. 4.
HEAD COACH TAYO BAILEY-DUVALL
"Great job for the Blue Raiders today. We played tough in doubles and had some quick matches there. In singles, we make sure we do not take anyone for granted and we fight hard no matter who our opponents are. The girls really did that. The freshman got to see some play and some tough competition today. We had they learn a lot from it and get better at practice."
