Blue Raiders set for Chattanooga Classic

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee women's golf returns to the course for the final time in the regular season this week at the Chattanooga Classic. The tournament will be held April 2-4 at Council Fire Golf Club in Chattanooga.
Middle Tennessee has recorded back-to-back top-five finishes after a tie for fourth at South Dakota State's Jackrabbit Invitational. Taylor Edlin recorded her third-straight top-10 finish, tying for ninth at 218 (+2).
This is MTSU's third straight visit to the Mocs' spring tournament. The 18-team field features 11 teams ranked in Golfstat's top 100.
WEATHER FORECAST
The forecast for the tournament shows mostly sunny conditions on Sunday with a chance of rain Monday and cloudy skies on Tuesday.
NOTES
"We are really excited about this tourney at Council Fire Golf Club in Chattanooga. It is a very good golf course, and it is a strong field. We are getting to see some familiar teams along with some we haven't faced all year. This is a great place to have our final event before our conference tournament."

- Taylor Edlin leads the Blue Raiders with 61 birdies on the season.
- Lanie Campbell's 67 in the third roud of the Evie Odom Invitational was the lowest by a Blue Raider this season.
- Abbie Lee's 70 (-2) in the third round of the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational tied a career low and led the Blue Raiders to their first under-par team round of the season.
- Middle Tennessee is looking to replace three of its top scorers from the 2021-22 lineup. Edlin's scoring average of 75.9 was the best among players returning for 2022-23.
- Campbell and Lee made their collegiate debuts at the USA Intercollegiate.
- The Blue Raiders enter the week at No. 132 in the latest Golfweek Women's Collegiate Team Rankings and are No. 137 according to Golfstat.
