Akintola named USTFCCCA Second Team All-America
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Alaba Akintola of Middle Tennessee men's track and field team earned Second Team All-America honors for the 2023 NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Track and Field season as announced by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Friday.
Second Team All-America honors are awarded to athletes who finished between ninth and 16th place. The Ondo, Nigeria, native finished 13th in the 100-meter with a time of 10.07s and 16th in the 200-meter with a time of 20.46s.
Akintola's achievement marks consecutive years he has been named to All-America teams both in the indoor and outdoor seasons.
