MTSU wins a five-set thriller against Mercer on Friday

AUBURN, Ala. — The Middle Tennessee volleyball team continued play at the Tiger Invitational against Mercer on Friday. The Blue Raiders defeated the Bears in five sets.
The Blue Raiders (4-3, 0-0 CUSA) topped the Mercer Bears (3-5, 0-0 SoCon) with set scores of 25-21, 19-25, 25-13, 17-25 and 23-21. After tied at one all, MTSU dominated the third set with a .426 hitting percentage. The Bears took the fourth set. The Blue Raiders would close it out in a thrilling fifth set.
MTSU had five players with double-digit kills. Graduate student Kaylee Oscarson led the team in kills with 17 on .414 hitting percentage. Oscarson set a new career-high with the 17 kills. Sophomore Adri Rhoda added 16 kills and three service aces. Redshirt Senior Dasia Smith recorded 12 kills on a .360 hitting percentage. Redshirt Senior Erin Eisenhart finished with 20 digs which is good for 4 digs per set. Senior Taylor Eisert earned her second-straight double-double with 63 assists and 12 digs.

.414: Oscarson had a hitting percentage of .412 and 17 kills. The 17 kills set a new career-high in kills.
63: Eisert's toatal assists of 63 is the second highest total assists in a match in the 25-point era for the native from Louisville, Ky. Eisert added 12 digs.
5: Oscarson, Rhoda, Smith, Kayla Henley and Laure Jansen all recorded double-digit kills.
