Blue Raiders earn first Power-5 win since 2016 with a 4-3 win over Louisville on Sunday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Middle Tennessee women's tennis took on the Louisville Cardinal on Sunday, Jan. 28 in Louisville, Ky. MTSU tallied a 4-3 victory and their first win over a Power-5 school since 2016.
The Blue Raiders claimed the doubles point with wins on court No. 3 and No. 2. Lilly-Sophie Schmidt and Alessia Truden took care of business on court No. 3 winning 6-1 over Clement and Snells. On court No. 2, Sana Garakani and Eloise Swarbrick secured the doubles point with a win 6-1 against Mould and Miret.
The Cardinals earned two points on court No. 6 and No. 5 to start singles play. Garakani tallied a 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 win against Snells on court No. 1 to tie the score at 2-2. Louisville regained the lead with a win on court No. 2. Ilaria Sposetti picked up a 2-6, 6-2, 7-5 victory on court No. 4 over Miret. To clinch the win for the Blue Raiders, Lena Peyer defeated Davis on court No. 3 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.
