Cross Country Sweeps CUSA Freshman of the Week Honors

MURFREESBORO, TENN. - Middle Tennessee's Odilia Jepchumba and Allan Kiplagat once again take home the Conference USA's Freshman of the Week with their performances at the Gans Creek Invitational in Columbia, MO.
Kiplagat finished in 10th place on Friday with a time of 23:24.00 which shaved of 31 seconds off of his personal best in the 8k. He was the first freshman to place in the meet to lead the Blue Raiders to a top 15 finish in Missouri.
For Jepchumba, this is her second CUSA Freshman of the Week award in just as many races she has run in college. She finished in 21st place with a time of 20:31.00 in her 6k debut for Middle Tennessee.
Both runners expect to keep this momentum going into the final month of the regular season, and into the Conference USA championship meet on November 2.
