MTSU Drops Match to Liberty 3-1

Blue Raiders took the first set, but could not finish off the Flames
LYNCHBURG, Va. — Middle Tennessee volleyball fell to Liberty by a score of 3-1 in the second match of the two-match series. The Blue Raiders won the first set but could not maintain the momentum. The scores of the sets were as follows: 25-21, 22-25, 19-25 and 23-25.
The Blue Raiders (9-13, 5-5) hit .214 on the match, their lowest total in their last four matches. When hitting below .250, Middle Tennessee volleyball holds a record of 1-11. The Liberty Flames (11-9, 5-3) finished the match with a .259 hitting percentage. 11 of the 13 losses for the Blue Raiders have come when totaling a lower hitting percentage than the opposition.
Freshman Andi Spies recorded her 10th double-double of the season recording 43 assists and 10 digs, in addition to seven kills. Outside hitter Adriana Rhoda recorded 18 kills this afternoon, bringing her career total to 981. Defensive specialist Alivia Bronner had her best performance of the season recording a career-high 14 digs. Libero Laure Jansen recorded 20 digs, her sixth 20+ dig performance of the season.
