Lee Leads Blue Raiders Through Day One of Ron Moore Intercollegiate

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. – After a strong front nine at the University of Denver Golf Club, the Middle Tennessee women's golf team wrapped up the first round of the Ron Moore Intercollegiate shooting a 292 (+4) as a team to sit in 10th. The team notched 14 birdies on the round and sunk its first eagle of the fall season.
Abbie Lee led the way for the Blue Raiders, earning her second round under par of the season in Highlands Ranch. Continuing her consistent play, she carded three birdies and finished her front nine at one-under-par, turning in a 71 (-1) through 18 holes and placing T16 overall.
Ella Manley was the first Blue Raider to tally an eagle this season, dropping in one on the par-5 hole 18 at the turn for the day. The sophomore finished her back nine at three under par but struggled on the front with a pair of bogeys and one double bogey. She completed her day at par and will enter round two at T25.
Nicole Johnson turned in one of her best rounds of the season, a 74 (+2). She tallied two birdies on her back nine and one on her front while keeping high numbers off the scorecard. She'll tee off for the second round at T49.
Lanie Campbell was at par at the turn of day one, but struggled on her front nine, carding two birdies total to wrap up the first day at 75 (+3), good for T55 overall.
Kendall Maynard had a stronger front nine in her opening round, finishing at 37 (+1), but was unable to overcome her 39 (+3) back nine, placing T64 after shooting a 76 (+4).
