MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – MTSU Athletics is announcing a new policy that rewards fans for their generous support of Blue Raider student-athletes through Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) initiatives. Effective immediately, all NIL support and contributions made to Raiders Rising, the official NIL collective of MTSU Athletics, will now earn priority points with the Blue Raider Athletic Association.
"Both BRAA donations and NIL support are vital to the success of our athletics department in this evolving landscape of college sports," said Director of Athletics Chris Massaro. "This policy change allows us to equally reward both types of contributions and express our appreciation for all the generous supporters who chose to directly impact the lives and experiences of our student-athletes."
Similar to traditional BRAA donations, contributions to Raiders Rising and any other form of NIL support will be rewarded with priority points at a rate of 3 points per $100 contributed. The goals are to maximize NIL opportunities for MTSU student-athletes across all sports; establish sustainable, community-driven programs that increase fan engagement, and position MTSU as a leading university in innovative NIL strategies and student-athlete success.
"Raiders Rising is delighted that Blue Raider fans contributing to our athletes will now earn priority points," added Jonathon McGuire, CEO of Raiders Rising. "We recognize the diverse ways in which the community, alumni, and fans can support Middle Tennessee State University, and that athletics are a pivotal part of the university experience. We are excited that both the university administration and the athletic department are equally committed to supporting our athletes through direct NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) deals including contributions to the Raiders Rising Collective, aligning with our fundraising efforts."
These points will be utilized by the athletics department to prioritize Blue Raider faithful for various high-demand situations such as:
• Season ticket location upgrades
• Premium seating access and seat locations
• Access to limited away game tickets
• Access to limited postseason tickets
"This enhanced partnership with Raiders Rising and the BRAA strengthens our commitment to providing a comprehensive NIL program for our student-athletes," added Deputy Director of Athletics Lee De Leon. "By supporting our student-athletes through NIL deals and contributions to Raiders Rising, fans are not only accumulating valuable BRAA points, but also playing a vital role in attracting and retaining top talent for the Blue Raiders."
