Blue Raiders wrap up Darius Dixon Invitational

Lynchburg, Va. – Middle Tennessee men's and women's track and field teams completed the Darius Dixon Invitational on Saturday afternoon with a number of personal best times.
Men's Top Performances
· Brian Kiptoo placed third in the 3000-meter with a personal best 8:02.19s time.
· Freshman Sammy Sang placed first with a personal best in the 3000-meter seeded finals with a 8:24,46s time.
· Joel Iheakolam placed second in the Triple Jump with a mark of 15.25m for a new personal best.
·Carmelo Cannizzaro placed third in the 1000-meter with a 2:27.63s time. He also ran a personal best in the 800-meter with a 1:52.79s time.
Women's Top Performances
· Lyn'Nikka Vance placed second in the Long Jump with a mark of 5.93m
· Faith Nyathi placed second in the 3000-meter with a time of 9:25.95s for a personal best.
· Freshman Nancy Maiyo placed first in the 3000-meter seeded finals with a (PB) time of 10:01.17s.
· Odilia Jepchumba won the 3000-meter invite with Nyathi placing second.
· Pamela Milano placed third in the 800-meter with a time of 2:10.79s.
Next up
The men's and women's teams will be back in Lynchburg, Va. for the Conference USA Indoor Championships on Feb. 23-24.
