MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee Soccer has added a 10th signee to the 2024 signing class after signing transfer defender Emma Brown on Wednesday.
Brown comes to Murfreesboro from Nova Southeastern (Division II), where she led the Sharks to a Sweet 16 appearance in 2023. She started all 18 games and led her team in minutes played with 1,624 last season, earning First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-Region honors at season's end.
The Stokesley, England product scored two goals and started 37 games in her three seasons at Nova Southeastern, where she also started all 16 games and finished third on the team in minutes played as a freshman in 2021.
"MTSU and Coach Aston have ticked all my boxes in what I'm looking for in order to grow and develop academically and athletically," Brown said. "I am looking forward to playing in a new environment and leaving a positive impact to this team and program."
Prior to college, Brown played 10 seasons of club soccer for Middlesborough Academy and also played on the England U16-18 teams in 2017-19.
"Emma is a solid all-around player. She is technically proficient, has a high soccer IQ, and is a physical presence in the back," MTSU Head Coach Aston Rhoden said. "She leads well from the back and her success playing at a high level both in England and the NCAA Division II will help us be more flexible with our defensive schemes."
Brown intends to study Leisure and Sport Management with a goal of playing professional soccer overseas.
