Women's Tennis grabs three home wins
Middle Tennesse Women's Tennis capped off their first weekend under interim head coach John Kreis with their third win in as many days, defeating Troy 5-2 at the Adams Tennis Complex on Sunday to improve to 8-6 on the year after starting the weekend with sweeps over Eastern Kentucky and Tennessee State.
Redshirt junior Ilaria Sposetti clinched the win for the Blue Raiders to cap off a great afternoon following her doubles clincher. Sposetti won her fifth singles match of the year 6-3, 6-3 over Valeriia Avdeeva to give the Blue Raiders a 4-1 advantage in the match against the Trojans.
Kreis, who took over Tayo Bailey-Duvall while the head women's tennis coach is on maternity leave, is undefeated as the program's interim leader.
"Every time you win, it helps with confidence," Kreis said. "We got three in a row this weekend, so the girls should feel good about that. We've played really hard and it shows the results of all the girls hard work."
