Blue Raiders improve by 11 strokes on second day of CUSA Championship

MAGNOLIA, Texas – On a second straight cloudy, breezy day at High Meadow Ranch Golf Club, Middle Tennessee women's golf recorded a round of 296 (+8) Tuesday in the second round of the Conference USA Championship. Lanie Campbell moved up nine spots to a tie for 15th.
Campbell carded a 72 (E) Tuesday, the lowest score by a Blue Raider in the first two rounds of the tournament. She sits at 149 (+5) heading into the final day of the event.
Ella Manley is tied for 26th at 152 (+8) after a round of 74 (+2) Tuesday. She picked up two birdies, while a double bogey on hole 15 kept her from carding an even-par round.
Lauren Gilchrist and Nicole Johnson are tied for 28th at 153 (+9). Johnson carded a 73 (+1) with the help of two birdies Tuesday. Gilchrist shot a 79 (+7) in the second round.
Molly Bebelaar is 31st individually at 155 (+11).
The Blue Raiders are in seventh place at 603 (+27).

"We played a little better today but just didn't make up any ground. The golf course is there for the taking, just have to get more putts to fall. I'm proud of the way Lanie and Nicole stepped up. We still have another day to come out and try to win the day."
