Mason announces hiring of Sanders and elevation of Yount

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee head football coach Derek Mason announced today the hiring of Natasha Sanders as the Director of Recruiting and Player Relations and the elevation of Landan Yount as the Director of Player Personnel.
Sanders joins the Blue Raider football program after spending six years at her alma mater, Auburn. At Auburn, she served as a coordinator for on-campus recruiting during the 2018-2019 seasons before being elevated to Director of On-Campus Recruiting in 2020. While at Auburn, Sanders and Coach Mason served on the same 2021 staff for the Tigers.
From 2016-18, she was the discovery officer and associate of the Roadrunner Athletic Fund (RAF) at Texas-San Antonio, responsible for identifying donor prospects for the RAF, overseeing the development and implementation of cultivation strategies, and soliciting contributions for UTSA Athletics Annual Giving. She helped raise $2.61 million and increased the UTSA donor base of members.
Prior to UTSA, Sanders worked with athletic recruiting at Georgia, assisting the recruiting program coordinator with planning and coordinating all official and unofficial visits, facility and campus tours, game coverage, and overseeing more than 100 student workers. She was also a development assistant for The Georgia Bulldog Club, overseeing the Young Alumni program consisting of more than 1,000 football season ticket holders and the Gymnastics Endowment Fund.
Prior to Georgia, Sanders was a graduate assistant development officer at Georgia State, where she was instrumental in increasing membership for the Panther Athletic Club by 42 percent. Within her role, Sanders managed all Panther Athletic Club meals before home basketball contests and coordinated donor attendance at each game.
A native of Montgomery, Ala., Sanders served as a Tigerette/ S.O.A.R host at Auburn, assisting in the recruiting efforts for the 2011 BCS National Championship Team and providing facility and campus tours for 2010 and 2011 prospective recruits official and unofficial visits.
Sanders earned a master's degree in sports administration from Georgia State in 2015 and a bachelor's degree in exercise science from Auburn in 2011.
Yount joined the Blue Raider football program in January 2024 as the as the Director of Recruiting. Prior to MTSU, he served as Dartmouth's Director of Football Recruitment and External Relations.
During his time in Hanover, New Hampshire, Yount oversaw the recruiting efforts for the team to help the Big Green continue as the preeminent program in the Ivy League.
Prior to Dartmouth, Yount spent two years as a recruiting and scouting assistant at Notre Dame, working with the director of scouting and the director of player personnel. His day-to-day included creating advanced scouting reports, statistical sheets for the coaching staff, evaluating film of high school prospects and monitoring the transfer portal. He was also responsible for recruiting efforts such as planning official visits, organizing recruiting events and overseeing the student ambassador program.
Yount helped lead the Fighting Irish to five top-10 recruiting classes (according to 247sports). These were the only top-10 recruiting classes during Brian Kelly's tenure as the head coach.
A 2020 graduate of Holy Cross College at Notre Dame (Indiana), Yount earned his degree in business with a double minor in marketing and sports management. While attending the college, he worked at Notre Dame for three years as a recruiting student analyst, working with the director of recruiting to gather recruit data, give campus tours and assist with recruiting operations in South Bend.
