Blue Raiders head to Nashville for Vanderbilt Invitational

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee Track & Field heads to Vanderbilt University for the second week in a row, this time for the Vanderbilt Invitational on Jan 17 & 18.
This past weekend, the team competed in the Commodore Challenge where two Blue Raiders set new program records, Wail Bourahli in the Men's 600m and Privillege Chikara in the Women's 1000m. Chikara's performance earned her Conference USA Women's Track Athlete of the Week on Jan. 14.
In addition to Chikara, four more Blue Raiders have won CUSA weekly awards during the Indoor Track & Field season thus far. Bridgett Annan took home CUSA Women's Track Athlete of the Week on Jan. 7, John Sherman won CUSA Men's Track Athlete of the Week, Jason Smallwood was named the CUSA Men's Field Athlete of the Week and CUSA Freshman of the Week, and Viktoria Rushnakova took home CUSA Women's Field Athlete of the Week.
The event times for the first day of the Vanderbilt Invitational begin at 9:00 am and the last event is scheduled for 8:35 pm. For the second day of the meet, the events begin at 8:30 am and finish at 6:50 pm.
