Blue Raiders Travel to Louisville for PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee Track & Field will be traveling to Louisville, Ky. for the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.
The Blue Raiders had a very successful trip to Nashville for the Vanderbilt Invitational in their last meet. Privillege Chikara finished in third place in the Women's 800m with a time of 2:07.58.
In the Men's 200m race, John Sherman took home the silver with a time of 21.41 seconds. In the Men's 60m dash, Sherman narrowly broke his previous personal record recording a time of 6.65 seconds to take fourth place in the race.
In the last event of the first day of the Vanderbilt Invitational, Mackdonald Songok broke the program record in the Men's 1000m with a time of 2:23.59. It was his first meet as a Blue Raider.
The Blue Raiders crushed it in both the Men's and Women's Distance Medley Relays with the men taking home first place and the women securing third. A team of Sammy Sang, Wail Bourahli, Carmelo Cannizzaro and Allan Kiplagat recorded a time of 9:57.52 and a team of Odilia Jepchumba, Bridgett Annan, Privillege Chikara and Faith Nyathi securd third with a time of 11:44.51.
