Blue Raiders Fall 2–1 to Missouri State in CUSA Semifinal

LYNCHBURG, Va. — Middle Tennessee (11–6–3, 5–2–1 CUSA) saw its Conference USA Tournament run come to an end Tuesday night, falling 2–1 to Missouri State (7–8–4, 2–3–3 CUSA) at Osborne Stadium.
The Bears struck early, finding the net in the 4th minute to take a 1–0 lead. The Blue Raiders responded in the 22nd minute, as senior forward Taijah Fraser broke free and finished unassisted for her fourth goal of the season.
Missouri State regained the lead just 10 minutes later, capitalizing on a loose ball in the box to carry a 2–1 advantage into halftime.
Junior defender Sadie Sterbenz placed three shots on target, while goalkeeper Ella Sellers recorded two saves. Freshman defender Scottie Newton added a late attempt that forced a save in the 85th minute. Despite a strong push and four second-half saves from MSU goalkeeper Ella Becker, the Blue Raiders were unable to find the equalizer.

The Blue Raiders finished with an 8–6 edge in total shots and a 5–4 advantage in shots on goal.
MT earned five corner kicks, while holding the Bears to none.
The Blue Raiders controlled most of the second half, limiting Missouri State to one shot over the final 45 minutes.
