DALLAS – Continuing her consistent production, Middle Tennessee freshman guard Blair Baugus has been named the Conference USA Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Baugus put together another strong week against quality competition, beginning with an efficient outing versus Auburn. The freshman finished with 11 points, five rebounds and a steal while shooting 3-of-5 from the field and 5-of-6 from the free-throw line, providing steady scoring against a Power Five opponent.
She followed that performance with a dominant effort on the glass against Wichita State, recording eight points and 12 rebounds to go along with three steals and an assist. The double-digit rebounding performance marked her sixth such effort of the season and helped anchor the Blue Raiders on both ends of the floor.
Through 12 games, Baugus has firmly established herself as one of Conference USA's most complete players:
• 4th in CUSA in rebounding (9.3 RPG) — top freshman in the league
• 4th in CUSA in steals — top freshman in the league
• Leads all CUSA freshmen in scoring (12.6 PPG)
This marks Baugus' fourth weekly honor of the season, further establishing her as the benchmark among Conference USA freshmen.
