Scott named CUSA Player of the Week

DALLAS – Following a pair of strong performances against Jax State and Kennesaw State, Middle Tennessee guard Ta'Mia Scott was named the Conference USA Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Scott, a junior from Clarksville, Tennessee, picked up her third career weekly accolade and second of the season – she was previously named Player of the Week in 2023-24.
The standout guard tallied a career-high 30 points, a career-high 14 boards, an assist, a block and a steal in MTSU's 63-46 win over Jax State, where she went 11-of-16 from the field (68.7 percent), including 2-of-3 from beyond the arc and 6-of-8 from the charity stripe. She tallied 14 of the Blue Raiders' 20 points in the third quarter, where MTSU outscored Jax State 20-6.
She followed that performance up with 24 points, eight rebounds, an assist and a block in MTSU's 76-43 rout over Kennesaw State, where she went 9-of-16 from the field (56.2 percent), including 3-of-6 from beyond the arc and 3-of-5 from the free throw line.
Scott is averaging 18.2 points per game in CUSA play - second among all players - and 8.0 rebounds per game. She has played a significant role in the Blue Raiders having the Nation's No. 1 defense in terms of opponent field goal percentage - holding teams to just 32.6 percent shooting.
