Tamia Waters sets program-record in the Women’s 60m Hurdles

Eight Blue Raiders set personal records
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee Track & Field finished the Music City Challenge at Vanderbilt University in record-setting fashion. Tamia Waters ran for a time of 8.43s in the Women's 60m Hurdles to set personal best in addition to the program-record. Waters notched the previous program-record by 0.05s, which was ran back in 2016.
The Women's 800m race saw Emma Thomas set a new personal-record with a time of 2:19.66. Thomas notched her previous best by over three seconds.
The Women's 60m race featured two Blue Raiders who set new personal records: Laila Rudolph and Cameron Desiree Wilson. Rudolph ran for a time of 7.69s to qualify for the semifinals where she then ran a time of 7.67s for the best of her career. Wilson set her personal best with a time of 7.79s.
Courtney Green set a personal best in the Women's 400m race by running for a time of 56.10s. On the men's side of the competition, Chris Valentin recorded the best time of his career with a time of 49.57s.
Towards the end of the meet, two more Blue Raiders set personal bests. Jacinto Gaspar ran the Men's 3000m race in 8:13.78s for his best and Mackdonald Songok set his personal record in the Men's 800m race with a time of 1:47.83.
Next Up
Middle Tennessee Track & Field's next time out will be for the Conference USA Championships on Feb. 28 and March 1. The meet will be held at Liberty in Lynchburg, Va.
