Boldyreva picks up first CUSA Player of the Week of the season
Following a pair of strong performances against NM State and UTEP, Middle Tennessee center Anastasiia Boldyreva was named the Conference USA Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Boldyreva, a senior from Moscow, Russia, picked up her sixth career weekly accolade and second of the season – she was previously named Player of the Week twice in 2023-24 and Freshman of the Week twice in 2021-22.

Jestin Porter reaches 1000 career points during win over UTEP
I spent my Sunday sidebar breaking down the rarity of Camryn Weston's zero points, 14 assists night against UTEP. But nearly as rare was the career accomplishment Jestin Porter hit on Saturday, becoming the 38th Blue Raider to score 1,000 points in the Blue and White.

The Blue Raiders sit second in the CUSA standings at the halfway point of CUSA play, one game back at 6-3 of CUSA leaders Jax State. But they're also just one game ahead of the FIVE-WAY tie for third place in the CUSA standings. Road games this week at Jax State on Thursday and at Kennesaw State on Saturday, will play a key role in sorting out the standings come this time next week.

The Blue Raiders were picked ninth out of 10 teams in last month's CUSA preseason poll. Ansley Blevins was the sole Blue Raider to make the preseason All-CUSA team.
Congratulations to Ansley Blevins on being named to the @ConferenceUSA Preseason All-Conference Team! 👏

Men's Golf starts spring with strong individual performances
A pair of Blue Raiders finished in the top 15 at the Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate at the Georgia Southern University Golf Course. Freshman Thad Whitfield led Middle Tennessee with a top-10 finish at 2-under par 214.
"It was a solid week for Thad and Markus," said Head Coach Mark McEntire. "We were able to knock some rust off and I was glad to get Ollie and Jake some tournament reps. Now, we will finish up qualifying and get ready to start the spring in Arizona in two weeks."

Celebrate Black History Month with Blue Raider Athletics
Last, but certainly not least, make sure to stay tuned both in-venue and on social media throughout all of February, when MTSU Athletics will celebrate the history of Black Blue Raiders past and present.

Brandon Buckner, I thought, captured why the month is a great chance to reflect on where we've been and where we're going with his comments on the football team socials.
