MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee's 2025 football schedule includes six home games, three mid-week contests ("Weekday CUSA"), and a non-conference slate with two first-time opponents as Conference USA announced the league schedules on Thursday.
The Blue Raiders' 111th football season and second under Head Coach Derek Mason includes home dates with Austin Peay, Marshall, new league member Missouri State, defending CUSA champion Jacksonville State, FIU, and Sam Houston.
The road contests include Wisconsin, Nevada, Kennesaw State, Delaware, WKU, and New Mexico State.
The Blue Raiders will open the 2025 season at home Aug. 30 against in-state rival Austin Peay in the first meeting between the two schools since 2010. MTSU owns a 39-12-2 record against the Governors in a series that began in 1936.
Middle Tennessee will hit the road on back-to-back weeks to face Big Ten opponent Wisconsin Sept. 6 then head to Reno to take on Nevada Sept. 13. It will mark the first time MTSU has played either opponent in its history.
The Blue Raiders will return home Sept. 20 to welcome a familiar foe to Floyd Stadium in the Marshall Thundering Herd. A member of the Sun Belt Conference, Marshall leads the series against MTSU 6-5, with the last contest taking place in 2021 that saw the Blue Raiders win, 34-28.
MTSU will then open conference play Sept. 27 with a road game against Kennesaw State. Last year, the Blue Raiders won the first-ever meeting against the Owls in Murfreesboro, 14-5.
Middle Tennessee will then enter October, where they will begin a stretch of three straight mid-week games (broadcast on either CBS Sports Network, ESPN, ESPN2, or ESPNU) at home on Oct. 8 against CUSA newcomer Missouri State. It will mark the first meeting between the two schools.
The Blue Raiders will hit the road to face league newcomer Delaware Wednesday, Oct. 22. It will be the first meeting against the Blue Hens since 1978.
Middle Tennessee will wrap up the mid-week portion of the schedule Oct 29 at home against Jacksonville State. The Blue Raiders lead the series against the Gamecocks, 14-4-2, but have lost the last three in a row.
The Blue Raiders will remain at home Nov. 8 to take on the FIU Panthers. MTSU owns a 14-6 advantage in the series and has won six straight over FIU at home.
MTSU will return to the road Nov. 15 against rival WKU and look to end a six-game losing streak versus the Hilltoppers. The game will also be the first November contest against WKU since 2021.
MTSU will then host Sam Houston for Senior Day Nov. 22. It will be the Bearkats first visit to Floyd Stadium as a CUSA member and their first since 1991.
Middle Tennessee will close out the regular season on the road against New Mexico State Nov. 29. The Blue Raiders trail the all-time series, 4-2, and have never won a game in Las Cruces.
Season ticket renewals will be emailed to past season ticket holders Friday (Feb. 7) at 10 a.m. and include up to a seven-month payment plan option. Fans can renew their tickets instantly via their online account and select the payment plan option they prefer.
