Blue Raiders Fall in the First Round of the WBIT to Belmont 64-51

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Blue Raiders traveled up the road for the first round of the WBIT, facing a familiar mid-state opponent in Belmont, with the Bruins taking a 64-51 win over Middle Tennessee.
The first half showcased the offensive firepower of both teams. In the first quarter, Anastasiia Boldyreva led the Raiders in scoring, finishing with eight points, two rebounds, and an assist. Ta'Mia Scott added five points, including a 3-pointer that opened the scoring for Middle Tennessee. Belmont kept it close, leaving the Raiders with a one-point lead heading into the second quarter.
The Bruins came out strong in the second, with their bench players providing a spark and their defense tightening up. They held the Raiders to just eight points in the quarter, with Scott and Jaylnn Gregory being the only MTSU players to score. Belmont took a 33-25 lead into halftime.
The Bruins remained in control to start the second half, capitalizing on MTSU's offensive struggles and knocking down key shots to extend their lead to 52-33 entering the final quarter.
Despite a 14-1 run in the fourth and holding Belmont scoreless for most of the period, the Blue Raiders couldn't overcome the deficit. The Bruins maintained their offensive edge and secured a 64-51 victory.
