MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee women's golf head coach Lauren Wamsley has signed her first Blue Raider high school recruit in Anna Clanton, announced Wednesday afternoon. The Shelbyville, Tenn., native attended Cascade High School for her preparatory years and will join MTSU in the fall of 2025.
"We are so excited to announce Anna is coming to MTSU," said head coach Lauren Wamsley. "Anna will bring a long list of accolades and experience to our Blue Raider family this fall. She's won on the highest stage in junior golf and is one of the hardest workers in the game. Anna is True Blue, and we can't wait for her to get on campus!"
As an integral member of the Lady Champions golf team, Clanton helped lead the program to its first-ever Region 5-A Championships team title at Ross Creek Landings. She was the low finisher for Cascade and for the tournament, securing a first medalist position. Clanton's senior season also saw the Lady Champs bring home their first TSSAA Division I Class A team State Championship. She finished in fourth place overall at the 2024 edition of the tournament, aiding in Cascade's 10-stroke victory in Sevierville.
On the amateur circuit, Canton earned the Ladies Club Championship at RiverBend Country Club in Shelbyville, as well as the first medalist title at the Sun Drop Tournament. She took part in the Mid-South Tour at Ross Creek Landing, taking home first place honors from the tournament as well.
