Middle Tennessee Cross Country opens season Saturday at Memphis Twilight Classic

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee cross country kicks off its season in Memphis on Saturday, Aug. 30, at the Memphis Twilight Classic for the ninth straight year.

Coming off a third-place finish a year ago, the men will look to start their season strong once again. Reigning champion Brian Kiptoo and runner-up Allan Kiplagat are back and aiming to dominate.

On the women's side, Odilia Jepchumba will compete in this race for the first time, while the rest of the team experienced this course last year. Faith Nyathi returns to Memphis for the first time since her first-place finish at the 2023 Memphis Twilight Classic.

College-level races will start at 9:20 p.m. with the women's 5K, followed by the men's four-mile race at around 10 p.m. CT.
