Blue Raiders Complete Weekend Action at MTSU Invite

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Newcomers Eric Crivei, Birtan Duran, Antoine Mayoral, and Rich LaLance made their Middle Tennessee debuts during the MTSU Invite, helping the Blue Raiders deliver performances in both singles and doubles.
The tournament opened with a sweep against Chattanooga. In doubles, Mayoral and Duran won 6-2 over Carter Ramthon and Sebastian Johnson, while Crivei and LaLance dominated 6-0 against TJ Ryerson and Jackson Orsega. Singles play saw Duran defeat Ryerson 6-4, 6-3, Crivei beat Ramthon 7-6, 6-3, LaLance rolled past Orsega 6-1, 6-0, and Mayoral topped Johnson 6-1, 7-6.
Saturday brought closer contests. In doubles, Mayoral and Duran fell 7-5 to Tennessee State's Taj Hibbert and James Adler Germinal, but Crivei and LaLance answered with a 6-2 win over Oskar Szymczak and Filippo Verdese. Singles matches went the distance, with Duran losing to Szymczak 1-6, 6-3, 6-4, Mayoral falling to Verdese 6-1, 0-6, 6-4, LaLance edged out by Adler 5-7, 6-2, 6-2, and Crivei dropping a close match to Hibbert 7-6, 2-6, 6-3.
The weekend closed against Belmont with mixed doubles results with Crivei and LaLance lost 6-3 to Eli Mizerski and Morgan Woodson, but Mayoral and Duran won 6-3 over Esteban Ortiz and Bautista Durrels Rojo. In singles, Duran defeated Rojo 6-3, 6-4, Crivei beat Mizerski 6-1, 6-3, and Mayoral battled through three sets to top Woodson 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (7-1).
