Macander named TSWA College Volleyball Player of the Week

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Senior setter Caroline Macander was named the Tennessee Sports Writers Association's College Volleyball Player of the Week on Wednesday, September 3.
Caroline Macander played a vital role in the Blue Raiders' success in their 2025 season debut. Middle Tennessee's 2-1 weekend featured a four-set win against Purdue Fort Wayne, a five-set win against Evansville, and a straight-set loss to Butler. Macander tallied 99 assists and 46 digs on the weekend, averaging 8.25 assists per set and securing two double-doubles. Macander currently leads the team in assists and digs and is third on the team in total blocks. She set several career highs, including 46 assists and five total blocks against Evansville and her stellar 26 dig performance against Purdue Fort Wayne. At the conclusion of the weekend, Caroline Macander was named to the Big Dawg Kickoff All-Tournament Team.

Middle Tennessee volleyball will host the Blue Raider Bash at Alumni Memorial Gymnasium this weekend, featuring matches against Marist, Mississippi State, and UT Martin. The first matchup featuring the Blue Raiders will be against Marist on Friday, September 5 at 6:00 p.m. Each match featuring the Blue Raiders will be streamed on ESPN+.
