Middle Tennessee Falls to Delaware

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee (10-9, 5-2 CUSA) fell to Delaware (8-10, 2-4 CUSA) on Thursday night.
The Blue Raiders had a tough time on offense for most of the game, hitting just 29.8% from the field and 15.4% from three-point range.
Even with the shooting struggles, MTSU bounced back late, outscoring Delaware 23–10 in the fourth quarter. They shot 56.3% in that final period and went on an 11-0 run to cut the deficit to 54–36.
Alayna Contreras was the standout for Middle Tennessee, leading with 14 points and adding four steals while playing consistently on both sides of the court. Sophomore Savannah Davis and freshman Macie Phifer each chipped in eight points, with Phifer grabbing a team-high nine rebounds.
MTSU had a slight advantage on the boards, 41–34, and scored 22 points in the paint.
