DALLAS – Continuing her standout freshman season, Middle Tennessee guard Blair Baugus has been named the Conference USA Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Baugus helped guide the Blue Raiders to a 1–1 week at home against Delaware and Liberty, highlighted by a 63–54 victory over Liberty that marked Head Coach Rick Insell's 500th career win.
She opened the week against Delaware, finishing with four points, five rebounds, two blocks and a steal. Baugus followed with one of the most complete performances of her career in the win over Liberty, posting 22 points and eight rebounds while recording a career-high six steals. She added a block and an assist while shooting an efficient 7-of-9 from the field, 2-of-3 from three-point range and 6-of-8 at the free-throw line.
Through her first season in a Blue Raider uniform, Baugus has firmly established herself as one of Conference USA's most impactful freshmen, consistently contributing on both ends of the floor in key moments.
The honor marks Baugus' sixth CUSA Freshman of the Week award this season, further solidifying her place among the league's top newcomers.
