Baugus named CUSA Freshman of the Week

DALLAS – Continuing her remarkable freshman campaign, Middle Tennessee guard Blair Baugus has been named the Conference USA Freshman of the Week for the fifth time this season, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Baugus delivered a pair of dominant performances to help guide the Blue Raiders through conference play, opening the week with a career night against Kennesaw State. The freshman posted a career-high 25 points to go along with 10 rebounds, three steals, a block and an assist while shooting 9-of-15 from the field and 7-of-9 from the free-throw line. She logged 40 minutes and recorded her sixth career double-double in the win.
She followed that performance with another double-double against Jacksonville State, finishing with 13 points and 10 rebounds while adding three steals and an assist. Baugus shot 6-of-10 from the field and recorded her seventh career double-double, giving her back-to-back double-doubles on the week.
Through 14 games, Baugus has firmly established herself as one of Conference USA's most complete players:
• 4th in CUSA in rebounding (9.4 RPG) — top freshman in the league
• 6th in CUSA in steals (2.5 SPG) — top freshman in the league
• Leads all CUSA freshmen in scoring (13.5 PPG)
