COLLEGE GROVE, Tenn. – As the 2026 ITA Ohio Valley Regionals enters the closing stages, one Blue Raider remains in the competition.
With his singles victory on Sunday, Aryan Saleh finds himself within arms reach of both an ITA regionals final and a coveted NCAA Individual Championships automatic berth, which would both be a first for the German.
His quarterfinal matchup had a ranked opponent in No. 53 Jack Loutit on the cards, with the Kentucky ace entering the matchup only dropping one set. The first set handed the Wildcat his second set loss of the tournament, as Saleh came out on top, 7-5. Loutit responded in set two with a 7-5 victory of his own, forcing a third set, marking familiar territory for the Blue Raider, who had competed in two three-set bouts in the tournament already. Saleh did not require a deuce to advance on the third attempt, winning the set, 6-4, and the match to advance to the semifinals. His opponent will be Dayton's Kyle McNally, with the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals semifinal billing slated for 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 12.
In doubles play, Antoine Mayoral and Clement Mayoral won their initial match before falling in the quarterfinals, ending an impressive run from the French brothers.
They began the day against Purdue's Juan David Velasquez and Jacob Lee, who found themselves ahead, 7-4, on the cusp of a decisive victory. The Mayorals did not give up, clawing the match all the way back to 7-7, forcing a tiebreaker set. The Blue Raiders initially jumped out to a 3-1 lead, before the Boilermaker duo halted their progress, recovering to take the lead, 5-4. The pairs exchanged points back and forth twice, evening the score at six apiece. Clement and Antoine finally pulled away, winning the match 8-6, taking the set and the spot in the quarterfinals.
Their opponents in the last eight proved to be more difficult, as Dayton's No. 90 Sturle Hoff Skigelstrand and Mikel Zinder edged out the sibling duo, 8-6.
