Men's cross country place fourth, Women fifth at the Crimson Classic

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Middle Tennessee men's cross country team placed fourth, while the women's team finished fifth at the Crimson Classic. The Blue Raiders finished ahead of several programs, including Kennesaw State, Tennessee Tech and Arkansas State.
The men recorded a team score of 151 points, while the women had a team score of 168 points.
Freshman Edger Ngibe led the men with an eighth-place finish in 23:58.2. Solomon Sayo followed in 12th place with a time of 24:14.5, while Kelvin Tanui finished 35th in 25:16.2.
Making his debut for the Blue Raiders, Ricky Kiptoo placed 40th in 25:26.8. Mackdonald Songok finished 79th in 26:11.1, and Juan Lucas de la Fuente rounded out the men's lineup in 114th place with a time of 27:29.0.
On the women's side, Elizabeth Magoma led with an eighth-place finish in 19:42.5. Odilia Jepchumba followed in 13th place with a time of 20:19.6, while Gladys Muriithi finished 23rd in 20:46.3.
Eleanor Towe placed 64th in 21:48.1, followed by Lauren Cole in 82nd with a time of 22:05.7. Viviana Salonia finished 86th in 22:09.6, and Hailee Gorham placed 133rd in 23:04.2.
