AUGUSTA, Ga. – Middle Tennessee Football punter Ashton Logan has been named to Ray's 8 for Week 7 following a standout week against Delaware, the Ray Guy Award announced Monday.
After being named to the Ray Guy Award Watchlist to begin the season, the redshirt senior has earned his first nod to the Ray's 8 for the season. He leads the conference while averaging 50.2 yards per boot, a mark that is good for third in the nation.
An Anaheim Hills, Calif., native, Logan averaged 53.2 yards on five punts against Delaware, with four of his five kicks going 50 or more yards. Tuesday marked the third-straight game that he has booted four or more farther than 50 yards in a single contest. Three of his five were placed inside the 20-yard line.
Punters listed on Ray's 8 weekly list are eligible to be chosen as the Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week. Ray's 8 and Punter of the Week are determined by the Ray Guy Award Committee.
