"We started off pretty slow tonight and Missouri State was challenging us from every angle," head coach Alexa Keckler said. "Our players just never quit [and] they continue to amaze me with their resiliency and their belief in one another.
"I couldn't be more proud."

Marianne Garcia had 24 digs, her second-highest mark of the season.

It looked as if the Bears would take a 2-0 lead in the match late in the second set as they took a 21-17 lead. However, it was not in the books for Missouri State as an 8-4 Blue Raiders run to tie the match at 25-25 forced extra points.
MTSU made it a 10-4 run to end the second set, with Henry putting away the decisive kill.
After the Bears took the third set to go up 2-1, Middle Tennessee tied the match back up with a 25-21 win to force a fifth set.
