Middle Tennessee Falls to Indiana, 4-1

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Middle Tennessee (5-2) lost its match 4-1 against Indiana (3-2) on Sunday afternoon.
The competition commenced with doubles, where Middle Tennessee was unable to secure the doubles point.
On court three, Birtan Duran and Antoine Mayoral were the first to conclude their match, defeating Facundo Yunis and Braeden Gelletich 6-3. The teams were tied at 3-3 when MTSU gained control and finished the match with a 3-0 run.
Eric Crivei and Jonasz Dziopak fell to Matteo Antonescu and Michael Andre with a score of 6-3. The teams were tied at 2-2 before the Hoosiers asserted dominance, leading 5-2. Although MTSU managed to break serve again, it was insufficient for a turnaround.
The decisive doubles point was secured on court one, where the No. 18 duo of Karim Al-Amin and Ondrej Horak lost in a tiebreaker to Sam Landau and Jip van Assendelft, 7-6. The match saw several ties; MTSU led 6-5 before IU equalized at 6-6 and executed a 3-0 run in the tiebreaker, allowing MTSU to level again at 3-3, but they could not maintain their footing.
In singles play, Dziopak was the first off the courts, having lost his match on court three to Indiana's Andre 6-1, 6-3. In the second set, MTSU briefly gained an advantage at 2-0, but IU regained control, winning the final two games.
Horak secured MTSU's sole point by winning his singles match against Indiana's Assendelft with a scoreline of 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.
Indiana clinched victory after winning two consecutive matches. Mayoral lost on court five to Indiana's Ben Pomeranets with a score of 2-6, 7-6, 2-6. Mayoral fought back in the second set tiebreak but was unable to sustain momentum in the third set after breaking back to make it 5-2. The match clinching point came on court four, where Crivei fell to Gelletich 7-5, 3-6, 2-6. After winning the opening set, Indiana dominated the final two sets.
Unfinished matches included senior Freddy Murray against Indiana's Deacon Thomas, currently at 5-7, 7-5 on court six, and Al-Amin facing Indiana's Yunis, with a score of 5-7, 6-3, 2-4 on court two.
