MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee head football coach Derek Mason announced a series of offseason staff changes aimed at strengthening the Blue Raiders' program heading into the upcoming season.
"These changes were made with one purpose in mind — to make Middle Tennessee football better and get us competing for championships," Mason said. "We evaluated every area of our operation, and I'm confident these adjustments put us in a stronger position moving forward."
The most significant changes came on the offensive side of the ball, where Mason restructured the coaching staff to bring new ideas, energy, and alignment to the unit. Anthony Scelfo was hired as offensive coordinator, with Christopher Browne joining the staff as offensive line coach, Al Poree as running backs coach, and Ross Jenkins as tight ends coach. Calvin Lowry transitions from running backs to outside receivers, while Coley Crowley has been elevated to inside receivers' coach. Joe Ganz moves into the role of quarterbacks coach, Cam Curtis was elevated to Co-Special Teams Coordinator, and Dylan Barnett was made offensive quality control coach.
Mason also announced several support staff updates, including the addition of Mikel Riggs as Director of Football Operations and Cameron O'Neal as Director of Player Personnel and Recruiting. Jack Albertson was elevated to Director of Technology and Internal Operations Coordinator, Will Chapman to Scouting Coordinator, Landon Hannis to Video Coordinator, and Cam Robinson was named Character Coach.
These changes reflect a comprehensive approach by Mason and his staff as the Blue Raiders continue preparing for the 2026 season.
