LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Middle Tennessee dropped a 6-1 decision to Louisville on Wednesday afternoon at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
In doubles, the Cardinals took an early lead by winning on court two, where Berta Miret and Elena Noguero defeated Rutuja Chaphalkar and Sthefany Lima 6-0. Louisville secured the doubles point on court one, with Alice Otis and Lika Peresypkina defeated Sadbaroy Kholdarova and Zora Koenig 7-6 (7-3) in a tiebreak.
In singles play, Louisville extended their advantage by securing wins on courts three, two, and one, establishing a 4-0 lead overall. Noguero triumphed over Lima 6-1, 6-0 on court three, followed by Davis, who defeated Koenig 6-4, 6-0 on court two. Otis sealed the team's victory for the Cardinals with a 6-4, 6-2 win against Peyer on court one.
The Blue Raiders claimed their only point on court six, where Lim defeated Gaines 6-4, 6-2.
Singles play continued on the remaining courts, resulting in two more points for Louisville. On court four, Peresypkina triumphed over sophomore Sara Conde in a tight second-set tiebreak, winning 6-2, 7-6 (8-6). Miret concluded the match on court five with a victory of 6-3, 3-6, 10-1 over Kholdarova.
