HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Middle Tennessee fell to Louisiana Tech 80–69 despite a strong offensive performance from Tre Green on Thursday night in the Conference USA Championship Quarterfinals.
Green led the Blue Raiders with 20 points, knocking down five three-pointers, while Jahvin Carter added 18 points and Sean Smith chipped in 10. Middle Tennessee shot 40.4 percent from the field and hit 10 three-pointers, but struggled at the free-throw line early and couldn't overcome Louisiana Tech's efficient shooting.
Louisiana Tech shot 48.3 percent from the floor and 56.3 percent from beyond the arc, led by AJ Bates' game-high 29 points. The Bulldogs built an early lead and maintained control throughout, never trailing in the contest.
The Blue Raiders finished with 32 rebounds and 11 assists as they battled throughout the second half but were unable to close the gap.
