Karim Al-Amin Named Conference USA Athlete of the Week

DALLAS, Texas — Middle Tennessee senior Karim Al-Amin earned his first Conference USA Athlete of the Week honor of the season, as announced by the league office.
Despite Middle Tennessee losing to South Florida, Al-Amin clinched the Blue Raiders' first point with a 7-6 (9-7), 6-3 win over No. 122 South Florida's Elijah Cham on court two. In the opening set, Al-Amin tied the score at 6-6 and ultimately triumphed in a tiebreak 9-7. In the match against Yale, Al-Amin continued his strong performance, overcoming Edward Liao in a three-set match on court two, finishing with scores of 6-7, 6-2, 1-0 (11-9).
