Torbett tabbed CUSA Pitcher of the Week

MURFREESBORO, Tenn.- Redshirt junior left-handed pitcher Cole Torbett was named Conference USA Pitcher of the Week, announced by the league office on April 20. This is Middle Tennessee baseball's second weekly award of the season, and the first of Torbett's career.
Torbett had a career day on the hill for the Blue Raiders on Sunday, tossing 8.2 shutout innings in a 4-0 win over Delaware to clinch a series sweep.
The Johnson City, Tennessee native threw a career-high in innings, while tying a career high with six strikeouts. Torbett also limited free passes, giving up just one walk on 116 pitches. Torbett was tabbed with the winning decision after his effort on the mound.

The Blue Raiders will hit the road to begin a five-game road trip, beginning with a midweek clash with in-state foe Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, Tennessee on Tuesday. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. CT with a broadcast on ESPN+, and audio stream on the Blue Raider Network.
