LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Isabella Johnson's magical sophomore season came to a close Wednesday with the completion of the NCAA Louisville Regional. On the hardest day of the tournament, she carded a four-over 76 to finish with a 214, tied for 13th on the player leaderboard.
Johnson sat at just one-over-par after making the turn from the front to the back nine, but tricky conditions saw her turn in a 76 in the final round at the University of Louisville Golf Club. Her top-15 finish marks the best for an individual qualifier in Middle Tennessee history, leaps higher than the previous mark of T52 previously set in 2019.
The Murfreesboro, Tenn., native tied for second with all players on par fives, averaging 4.42 strokes on each hole of that difficulty, and dropped in the fourth-most birdies with 14.
Her record-breaking season saw her break two single season program records, rounds at par or better (19) and scoring average (72.23). Even as just a sophomore, it's safe to say that her campaign will go down as one of the best in program history.
Auburn won the team crown at the Regional, while Houston, Arkansas, Iowa State and Ole Miss will join them as the qualifiers from the Louisville site. Sheridan Clancy from Indiana will be the individual qualifier for the tournament, carding a 207 (-9) over the three days of competition.
