Bokpin Advances in Two Events; Lekokei Runs 10K at NCAA East First Round

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Mustapha Bokpin qualified for the quarterfinals in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes to lead Middle Tennessee on the opening day of the NCAA East First Round on Wednesday at the UK Track & Field Complex.

Bokpin advanced to the quarterfinals in the 200 meters after running 20.35 seconds to finish sixth in his heat and second in his section. He also moved on in the 100 meters after placing second in his heat with a time of 10.09 seconds. Moses Lekokei competed in the 10,000 meters and finished in 29:54.14.

Middle Tennessee returns to action Thursday with Faith Nyathi set to compete in the 10,000 meters. Chidinma Agu will race in the 400 meters, while Privillege Chikara is slated to compete in the 800 meters.
