Chris Childers named PA Announcer for Blue Raider Football

The "Show Pony" is coming back home
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Chris Childers, a nationally recognized voice in college football and a proud alumnus of Middle Tennessee State University, has been named the new public address announcer for Blue Raider football games beginning with the 2026 season.
Childers, widely known to SiriusXM listeners as the energetic and insightful host of "Full Ride," brings a dynamic presence, deep knowledge of the game, and a strong connection to MTSU to Floyd Stadium. Nicknamed the "Show Pony," he has built a national following through his distinctive voice, sharp analysis, and passion for college athletics.
A graduate of MTSU, Childers' return to campus marks a full-circle moment. During his time as a student, he served as a public address announcer for Blue Raider baseball, softball, soccer, and volleyball, gaining early experience behind the microphone that helped launch his broadcasting career.
"We are thrilled to welcome Chris back to MTSU in this important role," said Director of Athletics Chris Massaro. "His energy, professionalism, and connection to our university make him an outstanding choice to serve as the voice on gameday. Chris understands what makes MTSU special, and we know he will elevate the game day atmosphere for our fans and student-athletes alike."
Childers' career spans years of national radio experience covering college football, where he has become one of the sport's most recognizable personalities. His ability to engage audiences and create excitement aligns with MTSU's commitment to delivering a first-class game day experience.
"I'm incredibly honored to come home to MTSU and be part of the game day tradition," Childers said. "This university helped shape who I am, and to now have the opportunity to bring energy and excitement to Blue Raider fans on Saturdays is something I don't take lightly. Getting my start on campus, including calling softball games, makes this opportunity even more meaningful. I can't wait to get started."
Childers will make his debut in the booth at Floyd Stadium when the Blue Raiders kick off the 2026 football season on Sept. 5.
