Bokpin honored with two CUSA superlatives

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Mustapha Bokpin was recognized as both Conference USA Men's Track Athlete and Newcomer of the Year, as announced by the league office on Friday, June 19.
Bokpin racked up an extensive list of accolades across both the 2026 indoor and outdoor track seasons. Most recently, the sophomore was named a First Team All-American in both the 100m and 200m races at the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Bokpin was the only male athlete from Conference USA to earn First-Team All-American honors, as well as the only male athlete from Conference USA to earn multiple All-American honors.
The Greater Accra native took home gold in both the 100m and 200m races at the Conference USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, earning him Men's Track Performer of the Meet and High Point Scorer of the Meet honors. Bokpin ran a personal best mark of 9.94 in the 100m at the CUSA Outdoor Championships, that time breaking the Middle Tennessee program record in the event.
During the indoor season, Bokpin placed first in the 200m and second in the 60m events at the Conference USA Indoor Track & Field Championships. Across both the indoor and outdoor seasons, the sprinter accumulated six CUSA Male Track Athlete of the Week honors.
Bokpin is the first MTSU Track Athlete of the Year since 2021 and the first ever Blue Raider to win Newcomer of the Year.
