Men's Tennis Receives ITA Academic Team, Individual Awards

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee men's tennis team earned 2026 International Tennis Association (ITA) Division I All-Academic Team honors and six individual Blue Raiders received 2026 ITA Scholar-Athlete awards, as announced by the organization on Monday.
The 2026 All-Academic Team recognition marked the 16th honor in program history, as well as the 16th straight.
The six Blue Raiders who garnered the distinction include seniors Freddy Murray, Ondrej Horak, Karim Al-Amin, and Jonasz Dziopak, and freshmen Rich LaLance and Antoine Mayoral. The honor represented the third of Dziopak's career, and the first for Murray, Horak, Al-Amin, LaLance, and Mayoral.
The 2026 ITA Division I All-Academic awards, selected by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, recognize both the top teams and individuals in the classroom, promoting education as an essential facet of the college tennis experience.The requirement for an ITA All-Academic Team award demands a team GPA of 3.2 or higher, and for an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
The Blue Raiders had another winning season in 2025-26, posting a 22-9 record and taking home a seventh-straight Conference USA Tournament championship. MTSU made its 15th NCAA Tournament team appearance, falling in the first round against No. 30 NC State, 2-4.
