Men's Tennis claims two victories in second day of Rocky Top Invite

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee men's tennis team did not fare as well during the second day of the Rocky Top Invite, claiming victory in only one doubles and one singles contest each on Saturday.
The dynamic duo of Eric Crivei and Aryan Saleh took care of business once again, defeating Benjamin Martin and Theodor-Matei Ene, 6-1, to stay perfect as a pair on the weekend.
However, Memphis' Sam Reeve and Alfie King earned a point back, defeating Clement Mayoral and John Popowich, 6-1.
Singles play took an opposite turn from the day prior, with Mayoral, Saleh, and Crivei the victims while Popowich triumphed in his matchup.
Mayoral fell in straight sets to Marko Milosavljevic, 6-3, 6-2 and Saleh gave up a 6-1, 6-2 decision to Martin.
Crivei dropped his first singles match of the weekend, 3-6, 7-6 (9), 6-3, to Ene.
On the bright side, Popwich claimed his first singles victory in his collegiate career, taking down Sean O Nuallain in a tense three-set match, 5-7, 6-4, 6-1.
The Blue Raiders will kick off the final day of the Rocky Top Invite with doubles play on Sunday at 8 a.m. CT against Louisville before finishing out with singles at 1 p.m. CT against Memphis.
