Middle Tennessee completes season-opening tournament

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The Blue Raiders wrapped up their first tournament of the fall season Sunday, competing in round three at the Mason Rudolph Championship at the Vanderbilt Legends Club. The program shot a 309 on the final day to remain in 15th with a combined score of 924.
Sara Burger was able to rebound after a difficult second round Saturday, turning in a two-over 73 Sunday afternoon. The fifth year finished at T73 in her first tournament in the Blue and White.
Jinger Heath stayed consistent as she did all tournament, with another 76 (+5) in the final round. She was the lowest finisher of the Middle Tennessee entries at 65th.
Brylee Crouse and Jayla Kucy both finished at nine over on the day with a pair of birdies between the two. They finished 82nd and 83rd, respectively, at the conclusion of the competition.
Ella Manley tallied an 11-over 82 to finish tied for 75th in the first tournament of her senior campaign.
Up Next: MTSU will return to competition October 5 at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational. The tournament, hosted by the University of Kansas, will run for two days at the Lawrence Country Club.
