Women's Tennis brings home three wins from final day of Memphis Invitational

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee women's tennis team produced a modest showing on the third and final day of the Memphis Invitational, bringing home points from one doubles and two singles contests.
Sara Conde and Victoria Matasova won their first doubles contest as a pair, taking down Memphis' Emma Dvorackova and Maria Santos 7-6 (2).
On the flip side, the Blue Raider pair of Lena Peyer and Zhanel Rustemova were handed a 6-1 defeat by Alicia Mall and Leonie Moeller.
In a close contest that went to the wire, Memphis' pair of Nela Linhartova and Clemence Thoard defeated Sthefany Lima and Sadbaroy Kholdarova, 7-5.
Moving onto singles play, Mall got the better of Matasova in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4.
Rustemova redeemed herself individually, defeating Santos 6-3, 7-6 (4) for MTSU's first singles point of the day.
In a three-set contest, Peyer fell to Moeller, 7-6, 6-3, 10-8, for Memphis' second singles point.
Linhartova then added to Memphis' tally with a narrow victory over Lima, 7-5, 7-5.
Kholdarova pulled one back for MTSU with her straight-set defeat of Dvorackova, 6-1, 6-4.
Facing off against Murray State's Aada Inna, Maria Palacios was unable to come out victorious in her matchup, falling 6-3, 6-7, 10-8
In totality, the Blue and White posted a 12-8 record in singles play and a 3-6 tab in doubles.
The Blue Raiders will be back in action for the ITA Regional Championships on Oct. 8.
